Historical Cervia

Milano Marittima is actfoto-barcheually the tourist resort expansion of historical town Cervia , the antique “city of salt”, founded as early as during the Roman age and rebuilt three times.

By strolling around its centre you will discover the Salt Storehouse, which currently houses important displays and exhibitions and the MUSA Salt Museum, St. Michael’s Tower, the Cathedral, the Town Hall and Garibaldi Square, heart of the historical quarters, where prestigious events, markets and concerts take place. Worthy of a visit are also the local Theatre, the Suffragio Church, with its Callido organ, St. Antonio’s church and the small Pisacane square including the historical building which was once the Fish Market.

The Salt Panscopia-di-saline of Cervia form a nature reserve which covers an area of 827 hectares from where “liman” or lagoon mud and water, precious elements for a healthy life, is extracted.
