Research topic

Multidisciplinary studies of complex human diseases: from nutrition to molecular biology

Project Synopsis

Multidisciplinary study of a geographic cluster of Sporadic Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis patients, with proteomic, metallomic, genetic and advanced multifactorial statistical analyses. The project is aimed at studying the different aspects of the disease with a particular focus to nutrition and environmental exposure. The final outcome would lead to a better understanding of the disease, by studying subjects exposed to common environmental stressors, and to propose potential nutritional interventions to manage the disease course.

Project keywords

environment, complex diseases, proteomics, metals
