The Milan Moot Court Academy – Litigation & Arbitration is a unrecognized non-profit association, which aims to provide educational, organizational and financial support to teams of students from Università degli Studi di Milano, who annually take part in the following international legal competitions: a) Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot; b) Pax Moot Competition; c) Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court; d) Sports Arbitration Moot.
These moot court competitions, which give students a chance to challenge themselves in simulated proceedings in the most various field of international arbitration and litigation, are excellent training experiences, involving hundreds of universities around the world every year and representing a highly professionalizing testing ground for students, allowing them to develop highly relevant skills, including mastery of legal English, the ability to analyze complex legal issues, written and oral advocacy, advanced use of databases and teamwork on transnational cases.
The Academy also aims to strengthen the dialogue between academia and the world of legal professions, encouraging the involvement of law firms in training activities, creating opportunities for discussion with students and contributing, in the medium and long term, to the construction of a qualified network of young professionals, already oriented towards litigation and international arbitration.
Finally, the Academy aims to maintain relationships with its Alumni, who, thanks in part to their participation in the above competitions, have achieved brilliant careers in both national and international professional contexts.
