Cationic nanoparticles are effective delivery systems for several classes of molecules, such as anticancer<br \/>\nagents, oligonucleotides and antibodies. Indeed, a cationic charge on the outer surface allows a<br \/>\nrapid cellular uptake together with the possibility of carrying negatively charged molecules. In this work, we<br \/>\nstudied the self-assembly of an ultra-short \u03b1\u03b1\u03b2-tripeptide containing an L-Arg\u2013L-Ala sequence and an unnatural<br \/>\nfluorine substituted \u03b22,3-diaryl-amino acid. The presence of the unnatural \u03b22,3-diaryl-amino acid<br \/>\nallowed us to obtain a protease stable sequence. Furthermore, an arginine guanidinium group triggered the<br \/>\nformation of spherical assemblies that were able to load small molecules and enter cells.
