Alessandro Caselli graduated from University of Milan, (Laurea in chemistry), Italy in 1995 and completed a thesis in organic chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Giancarlo Jommi, working on catalytic antibodies. He received his PhD in metallorganic chemistry from University of Lausanne (CH) in 2000 supervised by Prof. Carlo Floriani, working on a thesis titled: “The Chemistry of d2-Metal Carbenoids Over an Oxo Surface Modeled by Calix[4]arene”. In the same year he was awarded with a postdoctoral fellowship in organic chemistry at the University of Milan which he took to study organometallic lanthanides under with Prof Fulvia Orsini. In 2002 he joined the group of Prof. Sergio Cenini at the University of Milan, as Assistant Professor. He was appointed as Associate Professor in the same university in 2015 and Full Professor in 2022. His research interests lay in the fields of coordination complexes, metallorganic chemistry, eco-sustainable synthesis, and catalysis.
