They can be exposed to different biotic and abiotic factors that can negatively affect the gut community and ultimately the host functioning. Moreover, some of these factors can enhance the spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), one of the most relevant health concerns of this century, involving the transfer of antibiotic resistant genes and bacteria between humans, animals, and the environment. Therefore, the aim of my PhD project is to characterize the impact of different factors on the insect gut microbiota, also considering AMR spread in the agri-food ecosystems through horizontal gene transfer (HGT), under the \u201cOne Health\u201d approach.
