The &#8220;in vivo effects&#8221; of KD are matter of debate in the scientific community: on the one hand it\u2019s unquestionable its usefulness for therapeutic purposes, but there have been discussions on KD formulated for rapid weight loss. The aim of this PhD project is to investigate the metabolic effects of ketone bodies, by \u201cin vitro\u201d and \u201cin vivo\u201d studies.
