The project aims to test and validate the possibility of producing protein biomass (microalgae and insects) in the Piedmont area by exploiting thermal energy, carbon dioxide (CO2) and digestate produced by local anaerobic digestion plants.
In detail, the activities will be:
Analyze, test and validate the technologies for the production of protein algae (chlorella and spirulina) and insects in the Piedmontese agro-energy supply chain (biogas plants)
Activate two small-scale pilot plants for a technical and economic evaluation • Analyze the technical and legal obstacles to be overcome for the large-scale adoption of technologies in the Piedmontese context.
Study and implement supply chain organizational solutions.
