About me

I am assistant professor (tenure-track) at the Law Department “Cesare Beccaria” of the University of Milan (personal page at unimi.it). In 2018 I have received the national habilitation as associate professor of criminal law. I teach Criminal Law, European Criminal Law, Occupational Safety and Health Law.

I received the PhD from the University of Milan for a dissertation on criminal responsibility for exposure of workers and populations to asbestos (2013). During the post-doc, I have been visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law (2013-2014 and 2014-2015) and at the University of Lund (2018). I have been admitted to the Italian Bar.

Although my research interests range over the entire general and special parts of Criminal law, so far I have be dealing more specifically with the following subjects:

  • the interplay between penal systems and the protection of human rights
  • criminal immigration law
  • environmental crimes, product liability, workplace safety and health law
