Air and water pollution are a global concern. Indeed, several organic and inorganic compounds are dispersed in the enviroment affecting our lives. With the use of innovative sorbents, it is possible to absorb and to remove some of these pollutants. These materials can be coupled with photoactive catalysts that are able also to degrade absorbed contaminants under LED/UV light irradiation. Beside traditional sorbents (e.g., carbons), the Lab explits the sorption activity of innovative materials, such as conducting polymer (mainly polyaniline and polypyrrole). The goal of this research is the development of innovative sorbents capable of absorbing organic/inorganic water pollutants. Moreover, the recycle and the regeneration of these materials is deeply studied.
