Guglielmina DIOLAIUTI
Full Professor

Guglielmina Adele Diolaiuti, associate professor of Physical geography and Geomorphology, is at Milan University since 2002. She has more than 20 years of experience in the field of cryosphere sciences and glaciology, area of expertise in which she has published more than 100 papers on international peer-reviewed journals. Her research activities are mainly focused on: i) describing, evaluating and quantifying climate change impacts on glaciers; ii) surveying and describing glacier micro meteorology; iii) projecting glacier evolution and meltwater discharge under different climate change scenarios.

Maurizio MAUGERI
Full Professor

Maurizio Maugeri, full professor of atmospheric physics, is at Milan University – Department of Environmental Science and Policy - since autumn 1991. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of atmospheric physics and climate change, areas of expertise in which he has published more than 120 papers listed by Scopus or Web of Science. He has about 12000 citations, with an H-index of 46. His researches are mainly focused on the reconstruction of the evolution of the climate of the last two centuries for Italy, the Alpine Region and the Mediterranean area and on the study of the current climate of these areas.

Antonella SENESE
Researcher

Antonella Senese, RTD-B of Physical geography and Geomorphology and PhD in Natural and Environmental Sciences, is at Milan University since 2010. She has more than 10 years of experience in the field of cryosphere sciences, glaciology and alpine climatology, area of expertise in which she has published more than 30 papers on international peer-reviewed journals. Her research activities are mainly focused on: i) describing, evaluating and quantifying climate change impacts on glaciers; ii) surveying and describing glacier micro meteorology; iii) projecting glacier evolution and meltwater discharge under different climate change scenarios; iv) evaluating environmental sustainability of techniques for mitigating climate change effects.

Veronica MANARA
Researcher

Researcher at Environmental Science and Policy of the University of Milan. Climatologist. My research activity is focused on the study of how and why the climate is changing and is changed during the last two centuries in Italy. My analysis are focused on variables like temperature, precipitation, solar radiation, visibility and cloudiness. Try to understand the underlying causes to the observed variations is important not only under the scientific point of view but also for the impact that they have in a high number of sectors (agriculture, energy production). The results of my research activity have been published in more than 20 international papers.

David FUGAZZA
Researcher

Researcher at the department of environmental science and policy, University of Milan. My main research interests concern the applications of remote sensing for cryospheric monitoring, using data from satellites and UAVs. I have taken part in the creation of glacier inventories (e.g. in the Alps, Turkey and Pakistan), studied the evolution of glacier albedo, glacier volume variations and the spatio-temporal distribution of snow cover at the basin scale. My interests extend to non-glacial areas, such as proglacial areas and those environments which are influenced by the availability of ice- and snow-related meltwater (e.g. agricultural areas). I have published more than 50 scientific papers on international journals.
