“CNR-ISAC Climate Bulletin: a key reference for climate monitoring in Italy”
The monthly Climate Bulletin published by the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (CNR-ISAC) is a fundamental resource for understanding climate evolution in Italy. Based on a network of historical and modern meteorological observations, the bulletin provides detailed analyses of temperature and precipitation anomalies on a monthly, seasonal, and annual scale, comparing them with the average values from the 1991–2020 reference period. Thanks to the statistical homogenization of time series and interpolation over a regular grid, the bulletin offers a consistent view of climate trends, highlighting significant variations and providing a historical context that spans up to two centuries. This tool is especially valuable for researchers, educators, and policy-makers, as it contributes to the understanding of climate change and supports the development of adaptation and mitigation strategies. To access the latest bulletins and explore the climate analyses in detail, visit the official CNR-ISAC page.
“The European Green Deal: the EU’s strategy for a climate-neutral future”
Launched by the European Commission in December 2019, the European Green Deal is an ambitious action plan aimed at making Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. This cross-cutting initiative seeks to transform the EU economy through policies that promote environmental sustainability, economic growth, and social inclusion. Among the main goals of the European Green Deal are: 1) To reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. 2) To achieve climate neutrality by 2050. The European Green Deal is structured around several strategic initiatives, including:
- The “Fit for 55” package, which includes legislative measures to reduce emissions and promote clean energy.
- The Green Deal Industrial Plan, designed to strengthen the competitiveness of Europe’s net-zero industry and create green jobs.
- The Just Transition Mechanism, which supports the regions most affected by the transition to a green economy, ensuring that no one is left behind.

“The Paris Agreement: a milestone in global climate policy”
Adopted in 2015 under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Paris Agreement represents a historic step forward in the fight against climate change. For the first time, nearly all countries in the world committed to limit global warming to well below 2 °C above pre-industrial levels, and to pursue efforts to keep it under 1.5 °C. The Agreement also emphasizes the importance of climate resilience, adaptation strategies, and financial support for developing nations.
To support our teaching and research activities, we share here the full text of the Agreement as a key reference for understanding international climate governance and environmental diplomacy.
The Youth Committee for the Environment
