Carlo Pirola
Associated professor of Industrial Chemistry at the Chemistry Department of the Università degli Studi di Milano. Graduated in Industrial Chemistry at the Università degli Studi di Milano in 2000 with a thesis focused on the purification of water with a combined action on ultrasounds and photocatalysis.
In 2001 he starts to work as a tecnician at the Phisics Chemistry and Electrochemistry Department. In 2008 he gets a research PhD degree in Industrial Chemistry on the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, developing a new serie of supported catalyzers with a high Iron charge. In 2011 he started his pathway as researcher (SSD ING-IND/25, chemical plants) at the Chemistry Department at the Università degli Studi di Milano.
He is now an associated professor, coordinator of the SusCheOpe research group and the person in charge of the Pilot Plant Laboratory.
He teaches in the universitary courses Laboratorio di Impianti Chimici in the bachelor degree of Chimica Industriale and Industrial processes and scale-up in the master degree of Industrial Chemistry. Since 2022 he is one of the coordinators of the Erasmus Virtchem Project, in collaboration with the Paris Sorbonne Université and the Prague City University.
