  • Since 01/01/2021 until 31/12/2022, I am a research associate at INFN (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare) – section LNF (Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati), for the research project “R&D for photodetectors based on Organo-Metal Halide Perovskite material (PEROV)
  • Starting from 07/22/2017 to July 2019, I was associated with ISTM-CNR for a project entitled "Experimental and theoretical study in a condensed phase of related materials of potential chemical and technological interest" (DCM.AD002.122). For this purpose, I am studying with experimental and theoretical methods the structure / property relationships in luminescent metal-organic frameworks and in Nb / Ta perovskites useful for photonic conversion processes and / or as ferroelectric actuators.
  • In 2010-2018  I have been an associate at the Center for Materials Crystallography (CMC ) of Århus (DK) led by prof. Bo Brummerstedt Iversen. The CMC is an international research center funded by the Danish National Research Foundation, the Danish equivalent of the Italian CNR. Together with Dr. Carlo Gatti, Fausto Cargnoni and Davide Ceresoli of the CNR-SCITEC (former ISTM), I participated in the Milan workgroup of the Center. Our activity concerned the development of methods based on electron density to study chemical bonding, non-covalent interactions and electronic structure. The ultimate goal was to develop an overall view of the structural and energy landscape of recurring packing patterns in organic crystals, in order to derive suggestions on the choice of which compounds to use to develop organic materials with specific properties. Finally, the CMC has completely financed the following 5 PhD scholarships under my responsibility at the Graduate School of Chemistry of the University of Milan.
  • From 03/25/2011 to 11/25/2014 I was associated with the Institute of Molecular Sciences and Technologies (ISTM) of the National Research Council (CNR). I was involved in a project of the Department of Chemical Sciences and Materials Technologies. My contributions have concerned theoretical and experimental studies of the crystallographic structure and of the chemical bonding of organic molecules of biological and pharmacological interest. I also dealt with problems inherent in the polymorphism of bioactive substances.
  • Since 2007, I have been a member of the Italian Crystallography Association (AIC), a non-profit organization that aims to promote crystallography in Italy in all its educational aspects and scientific.
  • I was Guest Editor for a special issue of the open access journal "Crystals" (Impact Factor = 2.144) dedicated to gel crystallization methods or gel-like systems.
