On 14th and 15th February 2020, in cooperation with University of Milan and the European Court of Arbitration (Milan section), DLA Piper organized the first edition of the Milan Investment Pre-Moot. The event saw the participation of many talented teams from different countries, which measured their advocacy abilities in view of the final stage in Frankfurt. Also, after each round, all of the teams received useful feedbacks from talented scholars and arbitration practitioners.
On the 14th, University of Milan hosted a welcome conference about “recent developments in international investment arbitration“, moderated by Prof. Albert Henke. Each session included speeches by eminent practitioners, such as Prof. Laura Salvaneschi, Avv. Stefano Modenesi, Prof. Angelo Castagnola, Andrea Carlevaris, Prof. Michele Sabatini, Dr. Crina Baltag, Prof. Giacomo Rojas Elgueta, Dr. Maria Laura Malceddu, Dr. Anna de Luca and Giovanni Lega.
The Pre-Moot rounds took place at DLA Piper premises, involving the general rounds and the final between the two best teams: MGIMO University and University of LjubIjana, with the latter achieving the 1st place. The panel for the final was composed of Avv. Antonio Crivellaro and Prof. Luigi Fumagalli, presided by Avv. Mauro Rubino Sammartano.
