K-Theory Conferences

The K-Theory Foundation, Inc. intends to use some of its funds to regularly support conferences or summer/winter schools in K-theory and related subjects.

Conferences which the Foundation has supported to date include the following:

  1. The Beijing Satellite Meeting on K-theory and related topics of the 2014 ICM in Seoul.
  2. Cuntz-Pimsner Cross-Pollination, a workshop at the Lorentz Center, Leiden, June 2018.
  3. The Buenos Aires Satellite Meeting on K-theory of the 2018 ICM in Rio de Janeiro.

Any mathematician or group of mathematicians intending to run a conference, workshop, or summer/winter school in K-theory and/or related areas is welcome to submit a proposal to the Foundation by writing to the Foundation’s president (currently Marc Levine, University of Essen). 

Proposals may be submitted at any time. Funding decisions will be made once a year, usually in the late fall. Please look for our yearly call for proposals for details.

The number of conferences supported in any year may vary, depending on the Foundation’s financial situation at the time and the strength of the proposals received.  Decisions will be made by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, or by a committee of distinguished mathematicians appointed by the Board for this purpose.
