Since the first of January the Portuguese presidency semester of the Council of the European Union has started. The priorities are:

• strengthen the resilience of Europe
• promoting trust in the European social model
• promote sustainable recovery
• accelerate a fair and inclusive digital transition
• reaffirm the role of the EU in the world, ensuring that it is based on openness and multilateralism
