Finestre sull’Europa, the new monographic series of the Italian CDE network

They're now available in our EDC two physical copies of the first issue of Finestre sull’Europa, the monographic series of scientific-divulgative nature, promoted and edited by the Italian Network of European Documentation Centres and published by Cnr Edizioni.
Digital and open access, the series is designed for a wide and diverse audience of researchers, professionals, university students, but also for all those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the European Union and actively participate in the public debate on European issues.

Each volume is intended to collect original contributions proposed by the referents of the Italian ECDs and the result of unpublished research, such as essays, articles, reports presented at conferences and interviews.
This first issue “The State of the Union. Which perspectives for a better world?’ is the result of a shared training project of the Italian EDC network in collaboration with the European Commission’s Representation in Italy. Launched in 2023, it was based on the priority topics of the latest annual State of the Union speeches presented by the President of the European Commission to the European Parliament.

Under the slogan “A strong Europe in a changing world”, the Danish Presidency is committed to steering the work of the Council, promoting the EU agenda and coordinating policies between member countries by focusing its actions mainly on two priorities: A secure Europe and a competitive and green Europe.

The first refers to recent geopolitical changes and the need for the EU to strengthen and protect itself internationally. As regards the second, the aim is to consolidate European leadership in the green transition and simplify bureaucratic procedures in order to improve competitiveness. The proposed priority actions also include supporting Ukraine, managing irregular migration flows and supervising the progress of the accession negotiations of the candidate countries.
