Lucy Spicer

Lucy received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry with Biomedicine from King’s College London (KCL).

She then stayed at KCL to complete her Master in Science under the supervision of Dr Sarah Barry, where She worked on the elucidation of cytochrome P450 RufS active site via site-directed mutagenesis.

On completion of her degree in 2019, she spent 2 years working for Intertek Pharmaceutical Services in Manchester, specialising in oligonucleotide pharmaceutical analysis.

Lucy joined the University of Milan in November 2022 to undertake her PhD as a member of the Sattin Lab.

She is working on the synthesis of small molecule inhibitors of RSH proteins to counteract bacterial persistence and antibiotic tolerance.

When not studying, Lucy is cycling in the countryside or visiting new locations in Italy and Europe.
