Dr. Laura-Diaz-Casado

Laura graduated in 2016 from the University Complutense of Madrid (UCM). She joined the group of Prof. S. de la Moya where she worked in the synthesis of the first library of N-BODIPY. In 2017 she obtained a Master in Organic Chemistry at UCM under the supervision of Prof. C. López and Dr. A.M Gómez, where she worked on the synthesis of new oligosaccharide dyes.

She obtained her PhD. in Organic Chemistry (Cum Laude) in 2023 studying the weak interactions that involve aromatic systems and molecular recognition of nucleic acids under the supervision of Dr. Juan Luis Asensio and Dr. Andrés González (IQOG-CSIC). As a postdoc researcher in the Asensio´s Lab she worked on the synthesis and functionalization of carbohydrates and cyclodextrins.

Laura joined the SattinLab in March 2024 as a postdoc researcher, and her main project is the synthesis of multivalent glycoconjugates for the treatment of glioblastomas.

Her research interests include carbohydrates synthesis, drug discovery and molecular recognition

Lately Laura is getting into painting and she enjoys dancing and gardening.
