Dr. Lorenzo Guidetti

Lorenzo graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology at the Univeristà degli Studi di Parma in 2019. He carried out his master thesis at the University College of London on the synthesis of peptidomimetics on solid phase as protein-protein inhibitors (PPI).

In 2020 he started his Ph.D. – founded by AIRC (Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sul Cancro) – in Drug Sciences. His work was aimed at the synthesis of PPI small-molecule inhibitors of the Eph-ephrin system against the Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM); and he defended his thesis in 2024.

Lorenzo is a young organic and medicinal chemist and researcher.

He joined the Sattin Lab in March 2024 and his main project focuses on microRNAs involved in tumours environment.

He will identify potential microRNA inhibitors and develop new fluorogenic probe-nucleic acids conjugates to study the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profiles of new potential oligonucleotides-based drugs.

Outside the lab, Lorenzo has a passion for theatre and he likes to perform on stage. He also likes trekking, explore new cities, art and cooking.
