Matteo Paris was indeed born. Later on he married a real blonde, and still considers this fact as his main success. He lives in Modena, but you may often find him at the Physics Department of the University of Milano (here), where he is teaching quantum information and heading the Applied Quantum Mechanics Group and the Quantum Technology Lab.
He is a theoretician, looking for new physics in the fields of quantum information, quantum optics, and open quantum systems. In the recent years, he is mostly working in quantum sensing and metrology, continuous variable quantum technology, and quantum walks.
