The PhD candidate from DISTAD, Valeria Fedeli, of the XXXIX cycle, has recently won the 2024 V. Iliceto National Award for her Master’s Degree Thesis in Earth Sciences titled “A new dynamic slip node formulation for the representation of ‘continuous discontinuities’ in geodynamic numerical models.”
The award ceremony took place during the XXI Geophysics Workshop | Between Geology and Geophysics 2024, held at the Fortunato Zeni Hall, Museum of Science and Archaeology, Borgo S. Caterina 41, Rovereto (TN).

We are very happy to announce that Luca Forti, former PhD student of the XXXV cycle, now Research Fellow in our department, was awarded with the Giovanni Battista Castiglioni price, 2024 edition, by the Italian Association of Physical Geography and Geomorphology, for the best PhD Thesis related to Physical Geography and Geomorphology.
The PhD candidate (XXXVII) Fabiola Caso was awarded the best young researchers presentation prize during the DRT20024 Conference (Deformation, Rehology and Tectonics – https://drt-society.org/), with the presentation Melt pathways in the lower continental crust from map- to microscale: combined quantitative multidisciplinary approach applied in the Valpelline Series (Western Alps) by Caso F., Piloni C. B., Filippi M., Roda M., Piazolo S. & Zucali M.
