Upcoming course: Human impact on selected mountain areas – challenges, management, nature

This course examines the geomorphological effects of mass tourism in mountain regions, focusing on environmental challenges and sustainable management. Topics include ski tourism’s impact, forest roads, erosion, and landscape degradation. Students will explore strategies to reduce human pressure and manage protected areas amid rising tourism demand. Case studies provide insights into sustainable tourism practices.

Upcoming course: Modelling water-rock interactions from Earth’s surface into the mantle, by Prof. Sverjensky

This course aims to provide advanced skills in thethermodynamic modeling of fluid-rock interactions thatcan occur in surface environments (sedimentary settings,hydrothermal processes) and deep contexts (subductionzones, deep crust, lithospheric mantle).
