Research topic
Mitigate the impact of threats on the production, quality, and safety of food products
Project Synopsis
Streptomycetes can efficiently colonize the rhizosphere and the rhizoplane compartments and act as biocontrol agents of plant pathogens showing also a plant growth promotion activity. Therefore, they represent an excellent tool against both biotic and abiotic stresses.
The project aims to verify the streptomycetes mode of action through omic techniques to understand the mechanisms involved in the biotic and abiotic stress protection. In addition, plant physiological parameters and behaviour in different environmental conditions are going to be monitored by the use of non-disruptive innovative methods both in controlled and open field conditions.
