Design and synthesis of target-oriented new generation pesticides

Project Synopsis

My PhD research project is focused on the design and synthesis of hybrid fungicides with dual mechanism of action. The purpose of the project is the synthesis of a series of compounds resulting by conjugation of fungicides with different mechanism of action or containing the pharmacophores of different fungicides. The designed compounds are tested both in vitro and in vivo against plant pathogens. In particular, the assessment of biological activity is focused on testing ability of simultaneous inhibition of different cellular target, and on defining structure-activity relationships.
