Luca De Vincenti, PhD student of the Food Systems PhD programme (Università degli Studi di Milano), was selected for a grant supporting a Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) of the COST Action EuroXanth: “Integrating science on Xanthomonadaceae for integrated plant disease management in Europe”.
COST is an EU-funded programme that enables researchers to set up their interdisciplinary research networks in Europe and beyond. This action promotes exchange visits between researchers involved in a COST Action, allowing scientists to visit an institution or laboratory in another COST country. Moreover, it is aimed at fostering collaboration, sharing new techniques and infrastructure that may not be available in other participants’ institutions or laboratories.
Luca De Vincenti presented a project titled: “Unravelling the antibiofilm effects of plant derived compounds at non-lethal concentrations against the phytopathogenic bacteria Xylella fastidiosa“. For this purpose, he will be hosted by the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology of Auburn University (Alabama, USA) under the supervision of Prof. Leonardo De La Fuente.
