Project Synopsis
Fusarium is a threat for food quality and safety. Emerging mycotoxins represent a risk for consumer health. The development of innovative detection and quantification methods for mycotoxin and the exploitation of genomic information for understanding the mechanism of cross-kingdom pathogens are important strategies to improve food safety and quality.
My PhD work will focus on emerging mycotoxin using non disruptive method for detection and quantification and the use of genomic information on Fusarium species to improve knowledge of this genus affecting human and crop.
Moreover novel data of the distribution of emerging mycotoxins in wheat will be generated.
